Sarah Huskey
Myofascial Release Therapist, LMT
I’m Sarah Huskey and I am the owner of Andover Myofascial Release . I am an Expert Level John Barnes-MFR (Myofascial Release) Therapist. I was a few years into my massage career when I experienced JFB-MFR for the first time. I struggled with severe neck, back and pelvic pain for several years which had significantly increased after the birth of my son. After years of traditional physical therapy and massage , I saw no end to the chronic pain I was experiencing. It wasn’t until I had received treatment from another colleague, who applied a few Myofascial Release (MFR) techniques, that I finally felt a difference and had relief from the years of pain.
After a few sessions, it was very clear to me that Myofascial Release would be the most effective way for my clients to get the pain relief they are seeking. I began taking seminars and I have now completed more than 200 hours of Myofascial Release training, directly with John F. Barnes, PT.
I believe that the client’s participation — both during treatment and at home — is important to unlocking their own healing. I emphasizes, to all of my clients, the importance of making Myofascial Release self-treatment part of a daily wellness routine, encouraging it as a life-long practice to support, maintain, and enhance physical and mental well-being.
In order to provide my clients with the best services I continue to repeat Myofascial Release seminars and participate in educational experiences that allow the opportunity to deepen my knowledge of Myofascial Release and energy work.
I have trained under Lori Zeltwanger, PT, founder of Myofascial Mastery Academy (Z-Way)with additional training in CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute.
I grew up in the Merrimack Valley and enjoy everything that is New England! My background is diverse having spent time working in healthcare, politics and the travel industry. When I am not treating clients I can be found spending time enjoying the outdoors, going to the beach and practicing cold water immersion, hiking local trails and hanging out in my backyard in front of the fire pit.
I have a son who was diagnosed with autism at 21 months of age and I understand the immense physical and emotional stress parents experience while advocating for a child with special needs. I regularly treat him using MFR techniques (which he calls “squishes”).
I look forward to meeting you and being apart of your healing journey!
