Healing is like participating in a Tough Mudder!
Healing IS NOT linear.
Healing IS messy.
Healing IS emotional.
What Self-Care Looks Like for Me!
The term “self-care” is often tossed around lightly.
Our mind and body are interconnected, and are essentially one system.
Self-care:Reactive or Proactive?
The term “self-care” is often tossed around lightly.
Our mind and body are interconnected, and are essentially one system.
Stretching part 2!
The most important part of stretching is FEELING and LISTENING to your body.
Stretching part 1!
Did you know that when you stretch, your goal is not to stretch muscles or tendons but to RELEASE FASCIAL RESTRICTIONS?
How does fascia cause pain?
Because fascia is a continuous, 3-dimentional web of connective tissue that extends through the entire body from head to toe, a restriction in one part of the body, can put a strain on the ENTIRE fascial system creating a chain reaction of pain, dysfunction and limited range of motion.
How should I expect to feel after my treatment?
How “should” you feel after your Myofascial Release treatment? You may feel any range of physical or emotional feelings.
What length session should I book?
I offer the following session lengths:
60 min, 90 min, 120 min.
The length of time you choose is entirely up to you, with that said, each technique lasts 5-8 minutes, sometimes longer depending on how the fascia is responding and your body’s specific needs. Depending on how many areas need to be addressed, a longer session might be beneficial, or hour long sessions closer together might be even more beneficial.
How often should I recieve treatment?
Depending on why you are seeking treatment, I may recommend sessions closer together more frequently or longer sessions depending on the complexity of your symptoms. This is something we discuss together as a TEAM. I also strongly encourage people to to practice self-care techniques at home as part of their treatment.
What do I wear for MFR/CST?
I ask that clients bring comfortable clothing such as the following :
Women: a sports bra /tank top and loose fitting shorts (a two piece bathing suit is an option as well)
Men: loose fitting shorts
