Stretching part 2!

Stretching…do you need to stretch?

Yes!

The most important part of stretching is FEELING and LISTENING to your body.

FEELING: Not stretching TOO far and going to end range. Think of stretching as more like “releasing”.

You are not stretching muscles, you are releasing fascia.

LISTENING: Listen to your body as you stretch.

Often times we push too far and don’t hold a stretch long enough.

When you stretch you should feel a slight discomfort (what I call the fascial barrier). It’s the first feeling of a “stretch” sensation. once you feel that, hang out for about a minute. if it seems like its too much, back off.
